Ministry authorities have officially greenlit the country’s inaugural commercial mud crab fattening project. The initiative aims to diversify local aquaculture production, establish sustainable seafood export channels, and create alternative revenue streams for island communities. Aquaculture specialists noted that setting up controlled crab-fattening ponds will allow local farms to meet high demand from domestic resort kitchens while reducing reliance on wild-caught stock.
