The fundraising effort, spearheaded primarily by creators and supporters across the Maldivian TikTok community, aimed to secure funds to finish a permanent residence suited to Dhonkalo's needs.
The live fundraising event saw contributions pour in rapidly through direct bank transfers and pledges of household furnishings from individuals and local businesses. By early morning, the total surpassed MVR 1.2 million, providing the family with the financial security needed to construct a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for Dhonkalo to thrive.
